Question for enrolled students

So, this is kind of a strange question. I'll be starting in August, and classes officially start on Aug 19th, and my best friend is getting married in Puerto Rico on the 31st ( a Saturday). I just wanted to ask current students, is the course load manageable enough that I can slip away for that weekend? Or is there already too much work for me to try to go to the wedding.
