The interview

- If you receive an interview invitation respond promptly, this invitation may not be available for long.
- Book the first dates available. The later you interview the selection becomes more competitive, because programs tend to get saturated .
- Usually the interviewing programs provide discounts on certain hotels, ask the program coordinator.
- Do attend the dinner the night before the interview, it is a good chance to have some questions answered by the residents of the program. You can also guess how happy the residents are? Most of what you will hear is sugar coated.
- Remember you are also watched during this dinner, anything odd will be passed to the PD , be nice with everybody.
- Not all programs are created equal. Big names can be good for your CV, training and job later, but many residents are miserable in some of those programs because they are overworked or harassed. The high ego, the pressure of work, striving for high quality makes all unhappy, especially the residents in the lower level of training.
- Programs with diversity is better in general for IMG.
- Dress well and simple, black or blue suites for men and women are popular, minimal jewelry for women. You need to look professional.
