Professor George Griffin appointed foreign secretary of Academy of Medical Sciences

St Georges, University of Londons Professor George Griffin has been elected foreign secretary of the Academy of Medical Sciences. In his new post, Professor Griffin will be responsible for advising the president and the council on the strategic direction of the academy.
The Academy of Medical Sciences is an independent UK body that aims to promote medical science and the ways in which it benefits society.
Professor Griffin professor of infectious diseases and medicine at St Georges will begin his five-year term as the academys foreign secretary in November, succeeding Professor Robert Souhami in the role.
