Well hello all, we are back... Hopefully this time around will be better. We have received some decent feedback from last year and hope that this year will be the year. My wife is a doctor here in Germany in internal medicine. She is currently working in the Emergency room and scheduled to go to the ICU in January, she has attended a variety of training courses, so hoping that this year of working a an internal medicine doctor and the courses she has taken will make her application process more competitive as a IMG. My wife is a US Resident, has passed the USMLE Step 1 (one time fail), USMLE Step CK and CS both first time passes. She has a couple LORs from the US, but most from here in Germany. She did interview at one hospital in Denver last year. Which, she was never originally offered an interview, however she called to all the hospitals that she applied to and requested to be placed on their wait list. She was placed on this hospitals list and two days later was contacted for an interview. They interviewed 100 people, for 9 slots in Internal Medicine. They ranked her 12, so close.. She has been encouraged by them to re-apply this year. We also are getting some assistance from a Prof from where she did her clerkship in the US, to review her PS and CV, to ensure they are strong.. So, we are not giving up. I recently retired from the US Army, so hoping we can pull on some of those "heart-strings" to get invited for an interview at least. So, any advise for this years match would be most welcome. We applied to 211 programs last year, and many were community based programs. Anyone know of any fast way to sift through and find the IMG friendly hospitals?
