Info: Canadian, J1-required Step 1 (first attempt): 214, CK (first attempt): 232, CS - 1 failed attempt. Graduating in December - so no current ECFMG certificate. Applying FM. I'm prepping my application right now & I'm narrowing down the programs I apply to based on: 1. Do they accept 1 failure on CS? 2. What % of IMGs are in their program? (I'm picking >50%) 3. Do they allow visas? I'm expecting to end up with around 60 programs given that list, where I'm sure people will tell me to apply to 150-200 FM programs. But honestly, why would I apply to programs which clearly says "We don't accept any fails on CS or any portion of Step" or "We don't sponsor visas"? That's throwing away money. I'm also planning to apply to 20 lowest ranked Psych programs, 20 low-ranked IM, 20 low-ranked Psych, hopefully all with >80% IMGs in their rosters. So my total # of applications would come up to 120. Is my plan solid or do I need to add more for Psych, IM, Peds?[/p]
