Hello All!
I find myself in a most unfortunate situation. I was accepted to Ross University School of Medicine with the condition of successfully completing MERP. I have the necessary funding for the tuition, housing, and food but I suddenly realize I have another obstacle to overcome: where do I get $10000+ a semester to pay for Ross.
Reading Ross's financial planning document, they state that federal loans are capped at $10000 a semester. The cost of attendance is close to $22000 per semester; I would have to borrow $12000 from a lender.
My co-signer wouldn't qualify since he/she already signed for my siblings - 1 is currently finishing residency and owing $280000, and another owing $60000 and dropped out. Additionally my co-signer is retired.
What would you do?
