Applying to BOTH Categorical and Preliminary positions within ONE program

Hi everyone,

I haven't seen this discussed, so I'm raising this question:
Is it wise to apply to both Categorical and Prelim positions in one residency programs?

I've read different opinions online: starting from: it will confuse people who sort out applications, to: it will increase your chances to get a position.

Any advise, please?
