I'm not sure how to maximize my time during the path lab. Right now we are in general path and my lab group present very organized slides. They are reading and explaining what is on their slide but I don't know if I should be typing it up, or just reading along and highlight/underline what they say? Also I'm typing everything the tutor says when they talk. I'm not sure if that's enough. I just feel like I'm sitting around for a few hours a day not really doing anything active unless the tutor is talking.
For the midterm where we cover general path and maybe 1 or 2 systems, what am I supposed to know for the lab images? Are we just expected to know everything from that IMDEPSSICV for each lab slide?
We've only had one week of path lab where we've covered things like cell injury, inflammation and pigment/calcification/amyloidosis. So I'm not sure if with more time I'll know what I should be doing to be more effective.
I wish they would use that time to just teach us the slides instead of us teaching ourselves material we haven't covered yet. It seems like such an odd way to learn. From what I understand that is what the private tutors provide which sounds like a useful way to spend time with a clinical tutor. Since I don't have private tutoring, I'm just trying to find a solution for myself.
