I didn't get into Medical University of Lublin through HMI, but through Lins Office. But it seems either HMI or Lins Office they all asked lot of money. I paid 11000 dollars to get an admission and 3000 euro every year.
Getting an admission from the school is very very easy. They don't check your MCAT and GPA in college. No entrance exam and they don't even conduct an interview. No personal statement and CV needed for the admission. It seems anybody who has high school diploma, transcripts from both high school and college, and who s willing to pay that money could be a student of the school.
Although getting into this school is very easy, pass the basic science courses is relatively hard. Many teaching faculties are not fluent in English and have trouble to convey the material clearly. Even though their English capacity is a problem, they still throw you lots of things and expect you to know EVERYTHING. In the first two years you get many subjects in each semester, and your weekly schedule is roughly from 7:30 in the morning till 6 or 7 o'clock in the evening. Every subject they divided into lecture and class and you get quiz for every class and attendance sometimes is also required for lectures. Roughly every 3 weeks you get partial exams for each subjects, and usually 60 percent to pass. I found it almost not possible to study everything in a limited time, and their exams are relatively hard not because of the material is hard but because of understanding the question since the wording is sometimes unclear and the concept is over complex. Student cheating is everywhere here. And using of old exams is also how they pass/get high scores be exempted from final exam from some of those courses (every year they don't really change the exam questions, and student takes picture of the exam paper and pass over to the next year newcomers).
I personally found it is unethical, but it is how it works here. If I would have second chance to choose a medical school, I guess I would not choose to come here. But once you got into this you are bound since you've paid lots of money and time already. So, be levelheaded.
