Canadian Struggling between Ireland and SGU

Hi Everyone,
I know this may be a biased place to ask this question but I am in need of some guidance. I was accepted both to Ireland and SGU for august 2014, and I'm leaning very strongly on SGU but my parents are pushing towards Ireland. I don't mind doing residency in the states, and feel to get home it might be the easiest (I use the word easy very wrongly) way to do things. Here are my reasons, if people could tell me if I'm way off or something I'd appreciate it. Keep in mind I'm Canadian, I want to go back to Canada but want to do residency in the states.

1. USMLE prep, to SGU that's there #1 thing, there main goal is to get you to do well on those exams, where for Ireland it's more secondary. I'm not saying people from Ireland don't kick *** at it, it's just not the main focus.
2. Clinical rotations. The security of clinical rotations in the states that SGU offers. I did hear that Ireland has better access to elective rotations in Canada, but I'm more interested in doing my residency in the states, and I feel that secure clinical for 2 years in US, vs. only elective in Canada is better. But I could be wrong.
3. I know that the Irish degree is equivalent to an MD, but it's not an MD, and Ive dreamt most of my life for those 2 letters next to each other. That last reason if more of a lipstick reason, but all else being equal it still sways.
4. Cost. Although tuition equals out to being about the same, cost of living in Ireland for a Canadian is ASTRONOMICAL!
