Hello,
I am hoping to return to school with this fall or next after taking a few years off to raise little ones. I started college not knowing what to major in. After about ten f years I went back to community college and did per requisites to get into per nursing classes. So between the general Ed classes, the prerequisite classes and the prenursing classes I have almost 180 units. All of my grades were great except for the general education classes that my mom signed me up for as a teenager. My science classes and per nursing classes we all As. My overall PGA is about 3.7. But that is not counting the private university my mom signed me up for when was sixteen. Those classes were pass fail and somehow I passed a fee without going, lol. I'm not sure how that would calculate into my gpa though.
I had intended to go to a BSN program until I found out I had too many units to get financial aid after the first term! So i gave up my dream sof being an emergency room RN and worked as a nursing assistant while my kids we young. Now i recently applied to chiropractic schools because I would be eligible for graduate student aid and the attempted units would start over. I just found out I have been accepted to two of the Doctor of Chiropractic programs.
However I am feeling skeptical about studying chiropractic, the few I've met all seemed to be trying to hustle me into signing up for their clinic. I am very athletic and have no back pain but the times I've been evaluated each one found something different wrong with me and wanted me to come back an pay for a MRI or X-ray. I hav also been researching loa default and unemployment rates which both seem to e oddly high.
So I am hoping thee is a medical school I could get accepted to based on my education. I understand I do not stand a chance here in the US so I looked up a few things about foreign schools. If I did study abroad to become a MD I know I would end up doing something I would feel passionate about and love. However I would want to remain it the country to work and live. I am thinking of applying to five year programs iIreland and the UK. Or possibly Australia or New Zealand.
So yeah let the flames fly and either enable me or talk me out of this notion of mine. At the absolute worst I will start a DC program here in the states this fall or at the best I will be starting my applications for international medical schools instead. I wish there was a way I could do both so if I don't get into a MD program I will at least be a year into the chirp degree which I think I could hustle as healing but would not sleep well at night. However I do not want to risk going over the maximum attempted units and not be able to get grad plus loans the last year or two of a med programs have to get deported or something.
oh and if you read all this you des as pat on the back and more of a social life, lol.
