Transferring back to Ross?

I transferred from Ross to AUA after a semester because I kept getting sick in Dominica due to the food. This was before the real grocery store came next to the school. I did well at AUA in basic sciences; honored most courses and TA'd 3 of them. Did not do that well on Step 1, slightly below the mean.

I have two reasons for considering transferring. First, the private loans at AUA are onerous with my interest rates at 7.5% (and variable, while federal loans are capped at 6.8% and now Obama makes it even more advantageous to have federal loans) and its been a struggle for my parents just to make the interest payments. Second, AUA is making life extremely difficult now even during clinicals. AUA is requiring students pass an NBME COMP for Step 2 CK, with a score of 75 before they will allow anyone to sit for Step 2 CK. Also, shelfs have to be passed after every rotation with a score of 56, but there are rumors that this will be increased to 70.

Does Ross require a COMP for Step 2 CK now? If not any rumors that this will be instituted? What are the passing requirements for clinical shelfs?

I already wasted way too much time studying for Step 1 and can't afford to waste anymore time, especially with comps and shelfs. If Ross were to take me back, how would my record look to residency directors? Assuming I do much better on Step 2 CK and get good grades in clinicals.

Thanks for any input.
