Residency in England

Hi there,

I'm a Canadain, and at this point I am still trying to be accepted into a Canadian med school for my 4-year MD. However, I have ask been thinking about possibly doing a residency later on to become a specialist. I have heard that sometimes people use this as an opportunity to go to a new city and live somewhere new rather than staying in Canada. I was thinking it would be amazing to live in England, but from the research I've done so far, it seems to be quite difficult to apply for the residency, and and the residency itself seems to take quite a long time compared to doing a residency in Canada or the USA. In one post, someone mentioned that it would be 2 years "pre" work and then another 5-7 years on top of that for the residency. And that there are often issues with writing your boards, and getting a visa, etc.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on this subject at all.

Thank you!
