Is JFK University School of Medicine Charted by the government of Curacao?
The University is chartered and recognized by the government of Curacao.

Is JFK University School of Medicine listed in IMED?
We are listed in Faimer International Medical School Directory. Our ID number is F0003392.

Is JFK University School of Medicine registered with ECFMG?
We are registered with the ECFMG and our students are eligible to the USMLE.

Where is JFK University School of Medicine located?
We are located at 18 Kaya W.F.G. Mensing, Salina, Willemstad, Curacao.

Do you offer campus tours for prospective applicants?
Yes. Tours are available with appointment.

What are your application deadlines?
We accept applications throughout the year (rolling admissions). We have three start dates for admission, January, May and September.

What are your class sizes?
We offer small class sizes and personal attention.

What are the qualifications of your faculty?
Our faculty members have terminal degree's such as M.D.'s and PhD's.

What are the requirements for admission?
Minimum requirements for the Premedical program
- High School diploma
- 2 letters of recommendation

Minimum requirements for the Doctor of Medicine program
- 90 semester hours of undergraduate studies
- Preference to Baccalaureate or advanced degree from an accredited College or University
- 1 year of Biology or Zoology
- 1 year of General Chemistry
- 1 year of Organic Chemistry
- 1 year of Physics
- 1 semester of College Mathematics & English

Minimum requirements for transfer students from accredited medical schools
- Undergraduate coursework transcripts
- Submission of official medical school transcripts
- Submission of USMLE scores if applicable


How will I receive notice of my application?
You will be contacted by the admissions officer.

Do you offer financial Aid?
Credit based loans are available for students that are approved for credit worthiness by the lender.


Do you offer scholarships?
We have three scholarships available for students that meet the criteria.

1. The Ken Mae Scholarship - Awarded to students that achieve academic excellence in the first semester. Ask the admissions officer for details.

2. The Janet Kareem Scholarship - Awarded to students in the first semester (based on financial needs). Ask the admissions officer for details.

3. Students that are Curacao nationals are eligible for a 50% reduction in tuition for basic sciences and clinical science.

What is the atmosphere like on campus for students?
We believe in having a respectful campus that supports the physical, emotional, psychological and social well-being of all in our community. We provide a professional environment for learning and where students feel safe. JFK University School of Medicine does not tolerate harassment or bullying of any kind or by anyone.

What amenities are near campus?
There are nicely landscaped grounds surrounding the campus for a nice walk in between studying. There are restaurants and American fast food chains within walking distance from campus.

Do you offer campus housing?
We have an arrangement with a nearby hotel and can assist with housing in the community.

Do you offer campus housing for students with pets?
Students with pets must find housing in the community. The housing coordinator may be of assistance

Where do your students do their clinical rotations?
We have clinical clerkships in the United States, United Kingdom (England) and South Africa.
