Do NOT attend St. James!

First off, when I asked my Admissions Adviser about the pass rate of the USMLE Step 1, the Admission Adviser told me the passing rate was approximately 85%. Talking to the upperclassmen and former graduates, I actually found out that the passing rate for the Step was actually approximately 60%. That is approximately a 20%+ difference!

Secondly, the School advertises that the Faculty hold M.D./Ph.D degrees, but what the Administration does NOT tell you is that MOST of the Faculty/Professors that hold M.D. degrees lost their medical licenses in the US (Half of my professors have personally lost their medical licenses)! Do I need/want these people to be teaching me? When I talked to upperclassmen, they told me that:

Dean of the School (Dr. I): Lost his medical license in New York because he was a practicing Anesthesiologist who had become addicted to opiates/benzodiazepines and attended rehab multiple times for this addiction. Taking this information with a grain of salt, I decided to look to see if this information held any accuracy/authenticity. When I Googled Dr. I's name, I found the judgment from the New York State Board of Medicine describing Dr. I's situation, which led to the NY State Board of Medicine voiding Dr. I's medical license. Dr. I then attempted to apply for a medical license in Florida and was denied due to not completing rehab.

*I can provide the link to the judgment by the NY State Board of Medicine (upon request).

Dr. O (Nigerian-born Histology Professor): Multiple credible sources mentioned that Dr. Okorie had taught at St. George University of Medicine, located on the island of Grenada, in the Caribbean. The sources mentioned that Dr. O had come to teach at St. James because he had sexual relations with one of his female students and she got pregnant. The Administration of St. George eventually discovered the scandal and gave Dr. O two options: either retire and leave the school or be fired due to unethical principles ... Dr. O chose to retire and leave.

Dr. R (Puerto Rican-born Histology Professor): Multiple credible sources mentioned that my other Histology professor (Dr. R) was a practicing physician in Florida. Dr. R came to St. James School of Medicine due to the uncovering that he ran an illegal pharmacy in the State of Florida while practicing medicine and taking kick-backs/bribes from other area physician's to send their patients to his "Pharmacy."

Dr. S (Italian-born Radiology Professor): Researching Dr. S led me to uncover that she was a practicing surgeon/orthopaedic surgeon in Orange, CA at UCI Medical Center. She quit her job at UCI Medical Center due to an internal investigation that her level of care for patients were not up-to-par and that the Hospital was not able to ensure an acceptable level of patient care for her patient's.

Dr. E (Canadian-born Ethics Professor): Multiple credible sources mentioned that Dr. E lost her Canadian medical license due to botching a patient's kidney dialysis and the patient died, due to her actions. Dr. E is the ONLY doctor on the island of Anguilla that performs kidney dialysis for the residents of Anguilla

Thirdly, the Administration of St. James mentioned that they have multiple locations for Clinicals (3rd and 4th years of Medical School) in the United States. Talking to 4th semester students, every single student told me there are ONLY two locations (Chicago ONLY) that offer CORE rotations (rotations you HAVE to do) in order to graduate. One of those locations is Jackson Park Hospital. I confirmed with some former graduates and current students that Jackson Park Hospital has a shitty reputation among Residency Directors and that they WISHED they could of attended another hospital for CORE rotations. The graduates/students told me to AVOID that hospital at ALL costs as patients will try and sue you, the medical student, for anything. Also, I found out from the Arizona hospital that the school says they have a contract with that the contract with the hospital had expired months ago and that the hospital had not renewed the contract, yet on the Clinical section of the website, they still have the Arizona hospital listed as one of the locations you can do rotations at. The school is NOT willing to pay for anymore rotation spots at other hospitals because they are greedy/stingy.
