Prior grades important for acceptance? (Semmelweis)

When going to high school, I didn't have any motivation and so my grades from back then are pretty bad. Today I'm studying phys, bio, chem and math and working hard every day. I'm confident that I will do well on the entrance exams. I want to go to Semmelweis.

My question is if my early grades will mess up my chances in any way? I don't know if I will take the exams for the courses I'm currently studying, as it is expensive. If it is true that my grades aren't important, only my knowledge, I'm considering just skipping the exams to save some money. (Additionally, I can focus on only the relevant parts of the curriculum, i.e. no plant biology).

tl;dr
Do they look at your grades when admitting people (to Semmelweis)?
