I am student of CMU and am currently in Md5.I started CMU from premed.Basically,from my experience in CMU I have seen the school grow from semester to semester.From the administration to the academic staff(For example,The immigration department became more efficient).
As my time at CMU went by I noticed that some students expressed concerns about teachers being tough.Exam questions being harder than they should and some particular courses being especially difficult to pass.I personally decided to focus on the positives as well as learn from the perculiarities of each teacher and I found myself doing particularly well in those areas where others found it tough.An example that comes to mind is pathology class where a couple of my classmates felt it was simply impossible to pass and this might have prevented some people from studying adequately.I personally felt different about this and I thought I should work hard no matter how difficult the class looks and this proved useful for me as I did excellently well in the class.
My experience has thought me that going to a medical school like CMU requires commitment and hardwork.Its also a quick and efficient way of having the opportunity of practice in the US.
