Hey guys,

I'm currently a junior and finishing up my med school requirements this semester. I'm wondering what are my chances but I'm in a bit of a quirky situation (high gpa/low mcat...really low.) My cumulative average is a 3.504, B/P/CH- 3.64. I currently don't have any clinical experience or research but am driven to gain an experience next semester in a unique position. I actually haven't taken my MCAT yet, but am going to take it in January (one of the last ones before they change to the 2015 format). So I've taken a few practice tests already to gauge my progress and haven't really gotten anywhere...I completed all my requisites this year (Spring, summer (2 semesters), and this fall), so i'm pretty new to the material which is why I think I haven't been up to par where I thought i'd be. My 3 practice test grades were 14,14,17. The 17 I got after my midterm this semester so i'm pretty worried. My VR isn't at all where I thought it would be which is really frustrating, partially because I love the passages, but also the ** section I just get destroyed on, PS is my best section. I've done a lot of research this past year at my options and consider myself a realist- by January, I probably won't be scoring a 30. However, I'm not going to give up by any means. I highly considering UMHS because of their continued growth, affordability w/ US loan program, solid output of physicians w/ residency positions, and the high probability of NY- approval. My phobia about applying to this school is that I won't do well enough on the MCAT, by well enough I mean below 20.

My question- to any better informed students out there, accepted, or pending acceptance, what type of stats did you have to get accepted to UMHS?

I am a graduate & I was thinking of applying to the 4-yr MD program in Poland. However, it is sooo expensive compared to the other 6 yr Md programs in the region. Do you think I might be able to skip one year and start in year 2 of a 6-yr MD program? Has anybody done this before? I'm thinking of contacting the universities in Romania and Ukraine but I have heard it's not possible to skip a year.. Does anybody know anything?

Can someone help me pick which campus is the best in terms of accreditation, ease of travel (price, ease of travel/least # transfers etc), housing (prices, distance to campus), or anything else that can help me decide.

I read an article describing bonaire students having troubles with locals (theft and over-charging)- medicalschoolmemoirs.com/2013/10/st-james-school-of-medicine-bonaire.html -- so may be thats a no no. but admission advisor recommends this for some reason

st vincent was recommended to me as a canadian (it is accepted for loans and grants from canadian govt/banks)

anguilla - a little more expensive $2k/semes more. but i hear its safe, and maybe is better?

-most of my concern is with any accreditation differences and residency matching issues. Otherwise I can try to cope and adjust with anything. Thanks in advance

Hello, I looked at some other threads but am still a little unclear. I got an interview for st. George this Friday and I am wondering
what my chances are afterwards if the interview goes decently or even if it doesn't. Is there still a big elimination process or do they
take most of the students who get interviews? I also have a question about my cell phone. I have the iPhone 6 plus with Verizon. If
I do end up going to St. George in January can I use this phone at all over there or should I try to sell it right now. I saw that I

4. IF YOU HAD A CHOICE b/w THE FOLLOWING, WHICH ONE AND WHY?
Assuming both options have statistically similar residency matches.
A. A program that offer 2 full years of clinical rotations in US, but at non-spectacular facilities.
B. A program that offers 4-6 months in US, but at nicer facilities. For example, Jagiellonian Uni in Poland offers electives at UCLA.
