Hey Guys, I was hoping to get any advice re the two schools above. In terms of getting into the F1 programme in the UK and the quality of teaching, would people recommend St Georges University of London programme offered in Cyprus or The University of Warsaw. I know the fees at St Georges are much greater, but fees aside where would people recommend?:D

Any advice would be greatly received. :D:D

Dismissed US DO Program

I have previously attended medical school at Des Moines University for a year before being academically dismissed. I had a 2.0 gpa or 70 percent on all required course work. I took the mcat in 2009 with a 29O as my score. Would you think that I am still eligible to apply to Saba University School of Medicine and have a decent shot at acceptance? Would I have to retake the mcat since it is from 2009?

Free observership in USA:
There are plenty of medical schools and institutions which offer free observership for IMGs in USA such as, “the Drexel University College of Medical Sciences” offers tuition based observership structure for IMDs for about six weeks. And “Allegheny General and West Penn Hospital” host observers for free. The free program was designed for the nurses, physiotherapists, physicians, technologists, pharmacists, and health administrators. Most famous observership program is created by the “Oklahoma State Medical Association”. The 12 months observership plan will be made up of three to six continuous rotations in different fields. The program will provide the observer an opportunity to participate in various activities such as, attending outpatient clinic, hospital rounds, patient care conferences, and observing procedures. Upon the successful completion, an observer will receive a certificate of observership.

Philippine Med desperately need info

Hi everyone.

So I'm graduated high school a little less than 2 years ago, and after not getting into Medicine in my home country I moved to China for work. I have been seriously thinking about MBBS in China and have already applied. However recently it has come to light that the Philippines offer an equally affordable MD program with probably a better standard of education..

What's with philippine medical school's websites? They have almost no info about tuition fees, international requirements etc etc.. so frustrating! I am interested in studying medicine in the philippines. I have also checked out some online agencies but there's nothing concrete on fees etc. Can someone help me out? I would like to know whether the filipino med schools still offer the 5.5 year MD program (with several months premed)? If so which ones offer this? I didn't see anything about this on any of the school's websites I looked at. Also, what are the tuition fees for schools generally? For example at CDU and CIM, Lady Fatima etc etc?

General Question about Accreditions

Hi I was looking into some caribbean medical schools and I see some of them are not accredited by CA, NY, etc. So does that mean I cannot practice in those states if i graduate from a medical school that is not properly accredited. Or does that mean I cannot simply do my clinical in those states? If i do choose to go to one of the lower end schools, what should I be watching for? It would be a great help if someone can explain this to me. Thanks.
